pug urinating indoors

my friends dog that she rescued at age 5 urinate daily in the house, that is why the last owner gave him up. he does it on objects, like a pillow, the couch, etc. how do you break this habit or is it too late. thanks,deb

Hi Debra,  If he is doing abnormal urination like on pillows, then I would have him checked out by a vet.  He could have a urinary infection, or a problem like a leaking sphincter.  How much urine is it?  Is he neutered?  You don't normally see males urinating on objects like pillows.  They would more normally hike their legs on things.  Hope this helps,
