My dog wont eat without a push

Question
Please help I am at the end of my tether.  I have a West Highland Terrier who is about 5 years old.  It was my mum's dog but she died suddenly and Tilly came to live with myself and my 2 year old daughter. Trying to get her to eat is an absolute nightmare and I am spending so much money trying out different brands with no luck.  I am now buying Chicken, liver, roast beef and I literally have to put the food into her mouth to start the eating process or play games with her food by pretending I am going to stamp on it.I I honestly don't know how much longer I can keep this up as it is really getting me down.  Why, Why can't I just put some DOG FOOD down to her and she will eat it like any other normal dog.  Please can someone help me?

Answer
Hello, Firs let me say I'm sorry to hear of your loss. And Tilly is mosty likely grieving over her bestfriend also and this would explame the stubborness that comes free with all terriers! This sounds ahrse but if you pick a high quaility dry kibble leave it down and show her where it is...don't give treat/bones/rawhides or table scraps and she Will eventully go eat her food... a dog is not so stupid as to starve itsself. This is often the only measure to get such fussy dogs to eat...and its not the first time I've reccomended this.(also I am only one person..you said and I quote "can someone please help me") Give this a try she will eat the second day if she hasnt the first...just make sure she knows where the food is and thats all you need to do.
