destructive boxers

Question
I have 2 boxers.  The male just turned a year old and the female is not quite 11 months.  They are both very destructive chewers.
The male has gotten to 3 couch legs, an antique rocking chair, the molding to my stair case and a also chewed a hole in a wall.  I'm not even sure how he managed it, but he did.  I've caught him in the act and scolded him, put him in his crate and gave him toys that were allowed to be chewed, yet the behavior continues and he goes right back to the object he was chewing when I let him out of his crate...despite spraying the items with Bitter Apple.

The female is a terror on her toys.  She chews right through them and ingests some parts of them on occasion, no matter how tough I think they are.  About the only thing she hasn't managed to destory yet is a Kong.  She also consistantly eats anything with stuffing in it.  She has eaten a pillow and made quite a mess, as well as 3 old comforters I have put in her crate and 2 crate pads, despite dousing them with Bitter Apple.  I come home daily to shredded crate pad and batting everywhere even though she has appropriate chew toys in her crate with her.  The problem here is that she does this while I'm not at home and I can't catch her doing it, so I'm not able to scold her.  She doesn't do it when I'm around.
Help!  They're costing me a small fortune and I've done everything that was suggested to do in all the readings I've found.

Answer
Well the best thing to do with dogs that destroy things when you are not home is to crate them the whole time you are gone-a lot of dogs have to be crated for as long as 12 hours a day and they are fine, just stick a Kong toy in with them and they will be fine, but don't put them in the same crate together as they may fight in a confined area

Another thing that may help is to take them on long walks and often,if you really tire them out they will sleep and not ruin things

Some dogs have to medicated, but use that as a last resort only and only then after talking to your vet-so try the crate and try long walks before you go out or even just play time before you go out can help
