8 month old yorkie in season

Of course this is her first experience with being in season and we have noticed her needing extra attention today.  she has not started spotting yet, but when checked at the vet monday and he stated that it was coming.  Could you please tell me how long this is expected to last and anything more we could expect from her?

If you check my profile Diane Fairchild and Cindi Bass are the same person. Diane being my middle name and Fairchild my maiden name.
