hello i am wondering if you could tell me about the behaviour of maltese dogs when they have their first cycle me maltese is very strange she is nervouse sad hides all sorts of strange things she never did befor is this normal behaviour  if you do not know do you know any one that does

They can exhibit very strange bizarre behaviors when they come in season. My first bitch was urinating everywhere, but most particularly in the middle of our bed! (In her case, she was marking.) Now my bitches all just get put in the kitchen behind baby gates when they come in season, so different behaviors aren't as noticeable... except for the one who insists on marking in the house on her way out the door and the one who always seems to have a severe case of PMS when she is in season (she tries to bite the boys through the baby gate).

I don't know that anyone knows, but I would imagine that they could very well have cramping, etc. just as we do and that would account for some of the behaviors that you are seeing in your little gal.
