Question
Hello Kristin,
I have a 6 month old german shepard mix and she is so scared of everything. She was not like this until up about 2 weeks ago and it is really starting to scare my family and I. She is fine with a couple of my friends but ALL the others she runs away from. She hides under the bed for hours until she knows for sure they are gone, she will pee in fear while still running away from them. And in fact tonight we had just got home and i had just opened the from door to let my puppy in and she saw one of my brothers friends and she turned around and ran down the street and i had no idea why she was doing this. Like i said she is fine with some people but with the rest she is terrified. I have so idea what is wrong with her and i dont know why she is likes this. she has never been like this and now she is not eating normally! so my question is why is she doing this and how do i break her from being so scared?
PLEASE HELP
Thank you
sincerly Nicole

Answer
Puppies often go through a stage where they are terrified of everything, and it also sounds like she is submissive dog

what often works(esp in a young puppy)is to have one person she is afraid of,really coax her and talk to her and give her little treats, until she is not afraid of that person anymore, then do it with another person once she is ok with the first person, and do that with as many people as you can, until she is not afraid of new people anymore
