Question
QUESTION: Today our 3month old english bulldog started acting very strange. She was extremely thirsty. Then she threw up and seemed to become dizzy or lightheaded. She stumbled around the room and fell. Her right eye seemed to roll back in her head. She seemed dazed for a few minutes and then was thirsty again. We took her outside for fear of throwing up again and after 3-4 minutes she seemed better. She played a lil while and then took a long nap. When she woke up she seemed like her same playful self. I have read that seizures and tremors are common. This experience was very frightening to my husband and 8 year old son. Today is sunday and our vet is closed. We are calling first thing in the morning. What about blood sugar issues? I read online that those could also be signs of that

ANSWER: This really sounds like epilepsy. Seizures can be fatal and usually get worse with time. Make sure she's comfortable, cool without being cold and in a quiet place where she feels secure. Blood sugar could be an issue as well. Get some pedialyte into her if you can
good luck

QUESTION: The vet told us she is anemic and to feed her liver. I read that chicken liver is almost as good as beef liver. Should it be cooked or raw? The butcher shop was closed and the grocery didn't have any beef liver

Answer
You can use beef liver, chicken liver, any kind of liver. You can also and SHOULD put her on iron supplements. I would cook it, rare.
You can also give her leafy green veggies, spinach in particular is great just as it is for people.Be sure and use fresh. canned has too much salt. Anything iron rich. The question for me would be WHY is she anemic. Does she have parasites? Did he do a stool sample? Treat for parasites?
