Maltese in Heat

Hi Dawn,

I saw an email that you answered about how long Maltese are in heat and you said there are 3 stages that are 7-10 days each. Do they bleed through all stages or just the first.

Hi Linda,  The bleeding tapers off after the first stage.  They will bleed, but it won't be as noticable.  That does depend on breed though.  Your german breeds like Shepherds, Dobermans & Rottweilers are heavy bleeders.  So are Malamutes. Hope this helps,
