Question
I have a 7.5 month old female Saint Bernard pure breed.we rescued her from a home where they did not know she was going to get so big so fast so they keep her as an outside dog.She is now inside and loves it. I Feed her Iams Large Breed puppy ,it says to feed 4-6 cups. Is that enough for her i was looking at a growth chart that says she should be 96lbs she is about 75-80, If she is underweight I would like to get her on track , but i dont want to overfeed either. She is the best dog ever, calm natured very loyal and loving a big baby who loves attention and being pet on.I just want to make sure I am doing Right by her

Answer
Iams is not my personal choice for feeding. Feed a food with no by products, corn , wheat or soy. You'll have less waste (for you to clean up) and more nutrition for your dog. Try Flint River, Solid Gold, Eagle Pack, Wellness, Natural Balance. She will eat less, poop less,be healthier and you'll spend less.
Feed her as much as she wants to eat twice per day. She will eat more at first, then settle into a routine of eating less once she is caught up. Try to stick with a food 23 percent protein or less while she is a puppy. Large breeds need to grow slower to give their bones time to catch up to their weight
Good luck
