I recently rescued a basset / corgi mix.  She has taken off on us a couple of times and just keeps running with no hint of coming home.  She has no fear of the street or cars.  The second time she ran off, she got about a mile away before I was able to catch up with her and that was only because she decided to take a rest on someone's front lawn.  HELP!

Hi Kari,

Until you are sure the dog knows the "come" command, you should not be allowing her off the leash, and you need to be careful when opening your door that she doesn't slip out.
