Question
Hi..I have been seeing a man for 3 months now..we both have dogs..He has been upset that his dogs (aprox  24 lb x bred small dogs)are not allowed to sleep on MY bed with us..(His one dog likes to sleep up on the pillows)I set them up in a cozy large kennel in the same bed room..They have become content in there and go right to sleep....he still comments that they would be ok on the bed and even discusses this with his ex wife..as she is so shocked that I won't have them on the bed...I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback that sleeps on my bed every night ..When My Boyfriend is there she has no problem sleeping in the other room with my other Rhodesians...Any ideas as to how to get HIM to understand these 2 dogs are ok with the change????I will print it off and he can show it to his Ex as well....

Answer
Hi Wendy,

I'm much more of an "expert" when it comes to dog behavior, than when it comes to human behavior!

To me it makes total sense that your boyfriend can see that his dogs are not in distress while they are being kenneled in your bedroom, and that your own dog isn't in bed with you when your boyfriend is there.

Maybe the best answer is a compromise. When you're at your house, it's your bedroom rules, and when you're at his home, the dogs are in bed with you.

Best of luck!
