unusal behavior during heat

My peek a poo has come into heat three times and toward the end of her cycle she whines and wants to lick anyone and everyone who will let her. If allowed she would lick someone for up to an hour or sos. It seems to get worse each time she is in heat. Why is she doing this and is there anything I can do to help alleviate this annoying habit.

Thank you for writing to me about your little peek a poo.

Constant licking is often a sign of stress.  The licking is a means of self calming.  Apparently your girl isn't doing well with her heat cycles.  She is whining and licking.  My suggestion would be to have her spayed.  It will not only prevent certain cancers but will give peace to your pooch and your family.
