Question
We have a female Golden Retriever we adopted who is approximately 6 years old.  She is very calm, well trained and a very loving member of our family after only a few months.  Her health is excellent and activity level is normal for the breed (she currently weighs 75 pounds).  We would like to add another adoptee to our family soon, but want to be sure to choose a breed that would be compatible with her.  Individual demeanor and activity level will have to be a consideration of course, but what would be some recommendations regarding breed types that are most compatible with Golden's, preferably in the 30 to 50 pound range?

Answer
Well another golden might be the choice,as goldens do get along with others in the breed, also labs are very similar and would work out great as well

Also going to your local shelter and talking to the staff about what you are looking for, will help as well-there's many mixes in shelters that need homes as well, most in size range you are looking for

Most crosses in shelters do have lab in them as well-which is a good breed with a golden

so my best bet would be another retriever
