flakes in fur

my jack russell, 7 yrs old, has a lot of white flakes in her fur and is licking her legs a lot.

It sounds like she is having either an A) Allergic reaction B) very dry skin with dandruff C) bad reaction to fleas.

Either way, she should go to the vet if she is in such bad discomfort. The vet can help you (based upon her skin scrapings)decide upon a proper plan of action that may include a shampoo or a steroid injection.
