digging in my dog who just gave birth

My dog gave birth to 6 puppies 6 days ago. Lately she tries to dig everywhere in the house( carpet, under bed, in closet).Do you have any idea what this behavior might be attributed to?

Congratulations on the litter!

The digging behavior is probably just a sign of nesting.  If you have her in a whelping box, layer it will newspaper or old towels.

This behavior may last a couple of weeks. It probably would be a good idea to try to protect the carpet in the short term, though.
