puppy and rib bones

Question
I have a male pomeranian who is 9 weeks old and my husband gives him a rib bone just so he can play with it and pick the rest of the meat off. I think its a pork rib bone. I don't think that is good for the puppy, not just because I've heard of the splintering but because I don't think he should be eating any other type of food as a puppy except for his puppy food. Please advise. Thank you.

Answer
hello, No I never reccomend rib bones at all most dogs even small dogs can get splinters off them and cause internal bleeding leading to the dogs untimely death, And yes a puppy should e eatting soley puppy kibble the puppy has a low calorie requirment and if it gets too many extras it wont want to eat its fully balanced meals.
