My aggressive female

My female is in heat,and has been with a male for about a week now,..all of a sudden she is rejecting him,and being aggressive towards him. could she be pregnant or no longer in heat? i have never seen them tied yet,and the male is a bit smaller than the bitch

Hi,

There is no way to tell if she is pregnant without taking her to the vet to be checked. If she was in heat and around a male, there is the possiblity of puppies on the way. A week is plenty of time for them to have bred.

Alternatively, she could be over her breeding cycle, and not tolerate his advances.


I'm afraid this is one only time (and/or your vet) can tell. If you are breeding her, and want to know right away, you'll need to have her checked. Else, nature will take its course. If you don't want to breed her, you should definitely separate them until you are sure she is no longer in heat.
