False accusations

Question
Hello,
Please try to help me on this subject as the recent events I will describe have me upset and outraged. I own an eight year old female Akita that was recently accused
of biting another dog in our neighborhood. The other dog owners filed a report with animal control and we were informed they did this as a result of a conversation with police. The report by the way was not filed until at least
one day after the supposed attack. My wife and I were never asked by any police, animal control, or even the dog owners on the day of the "attack" if our dog was outside yet we are now viewed guilty by animal control and have a report filed against our dog. What can I do to fight this false accusation as we know our dog was inside the house at the time in question?
                      Thanks for helping,

Answer
Well do you have anyone that can speak on your behalf, that they did not see the dog outside at that time? Also are there other dogs in the neighborhood that have a history of bitting? It's also possible that it was bitten by a wild animal like a fox, raccoon or even a coyote

My best advice is to gather as many people as you can that will defend you and your dog and get a lawyer that has dealt with dog bite cases before
