Questioni have a 3yr old westie and have just brought an 8week westie home and all the 3yr old keeps doing is growling at the 8week old. what can i do to make them the best of friends
AnswerYour 3 year old probably feels like the new puppy is a threat.... Take them to a low-territorial area, like the park, and let them romp around together.

Hopefully those help out some...
Mainly, give the older dog as much attention as you did before..maybe more.
And, meanwhile, make sure your new pup doesn't feel left out.
It's always a good idea to, the first time you bring a new pup home, leave them in their crate for a day or two. Take them out to eat, go potty, and maybe thirty minutes of playtime a day. This will give them the chance to sniff out the surroundings, the other dog, etc. And it will also give your 3 year old a chance to sniff out the pup without any problems with territorial issues.
Best wishes!
