Question
my family just resued a 2-3yr old dogfrom the pound. we decided to make him an outdoor dog because my mother-in law is severly allergic to dogs. We had him for 2 days and his constant barking is driving me crazy. i can't come in the house for a minute before he cries.he also does not appear to eat unless someone is with him. please help we love frckles but his barking and eating habits are too much. My husband and mother-in law both work full time,while my son goes to kindergarten and i go to college.we dont want freckles to get sick.

Answer
Hi Joey;
This sounds like more problem than you can deal with.
The dog may have been an inside dog before, and he just isn't going to sdjust to being an outside dog.
He may have Psychological problems from his recent experiences and need more closeness and more iteracting with a secure enviornment than you are able to provide, keeping him outside.
It may be something that he will adjust to in time, or it may be you have to consider changing dogs.
Call your local Humane society and see about having them observe him to see if they think training will fix the problem, or if they will take him, and let you have one they are housing that is used to being an outside dog.
Sory I can't offer more hopeful solutions.
