Unexplained weight loss ; test for Giardia; try Lifes abundance food;

Question
I have an 8 year old miniature dacshund that has been steadily losing weight over the past year.  However, there has been no diet, exercise, or change in energy level.  I have taken her to the vet, we increased her food intake two weeks ago, and she lost an additional 4oz. during that time.  This seems to be the largest drop she has had so far.  We have done blood work checking kidneys, blood sugar, and pancreas, everything has come back normal.  The doctor and I both seem very stumped at this point.  She has always weighed around 15-16 lbs.  She is currently 13lbs.  She has not been this thin in her adult life.

Check for giardia.( A common problem - lives in the soil of our yards)
