Question
QUESTION: Hi....I have had to change food for my 15 lb pommeranian, he developed terrible diahrea and vomitting, I had given him rice and fish which I found out wasn't good for him (tuna) So!  then put him back on his own food to have him start all over again with the horrid messes....
I have now got him on hamburger and rice but am unsure of the amount of food to give him daily.  Normally on his regular food I give him 1/4 cup two times a day.  He can't have chicken, wheat, turkey, he gets violently ill.  He develops asthma when he has wheat, with the meat he gets ill with vomiting and diahrea.  However, he seems fine on the hamburger and rice......Please help me.  Thank you
Chris

ANSWER: Hi - Here is a link to Pips Bland diet ideas:  See if you can use any for your baby - yes - avoid the one with chicken.

If you use this one : give 3/4 cup in the am and 1/2 cup in the pm..

Hamburger Dinner

1/2 cup cooked rice or pasta  ( YOU can OMIT the Rice and Pasta )/ * Use x-tra cottage cheese:
1/2 cup non-fat cottage cheese
1/2  pound lean hamburger meat, fat drained and crumbled  - Cooked meat
1/4 cup steamed ( cooked ) vegetables, cubed  ( peas?  green beans : diced very small)
Mix rice and cottage cheese in a medium sized dog dish.
Add hamburger and veggies.

All the dogs I work with take 1/2 to 1 full teaspoon of NuVET supplements per day.
GREAT for digestion, diarrhea, allergies, .... Allergy Blaster and Immune system booster:
The do ship to Canada for an x-tra fee...
It would cost you .65 cents per day for the full wafer or full teaspoon per day.
CALL 1-800-474-7044
or

They have a taste guarantee and "60 day" money back satifaction trial offer.

TELL them Pet Nurse Marie is working with you on HOME-Cooking recipes.
YOUR baby can stay on the Bland diet if you include the vitamins daily.
It will balance out the home-cooking.

I have many advanced recipes we can graduate your POM to , in time.
YOU can also give 1/2 of a Pepto Bismol CAPLET ( 1 per day )- MOST vets do allow this.
Call your vet if you are unsure... We sue Pepto often for this type of doggie belly problem.

Keep me posted

QUESTION: HI.  Thank you so much for your help...I really do appreciate it.  First I would like to ask you where do I rate your answer which by the way was great...
I have another question.  When we went looking for a supplement the only thing I could find that I felt was meeting my needs was a product called "Ridgeway Fish oil" Omega 3 fatty acids enriched.  I am wondering what your thoughts on that product are....
I so appreciate you taking the time to answer me....
Rockie is 9 years old.  (Pom)
Thank you again.

Answer
Hi - Glad to help.... Don't worry, I don't take ratings anymore. I find that many folks did not rate anyway. Sometimes when people did not get the answer they wanted, I would get an unfair rate.
So, I said, no more to that.  BUT thanks anyway.

The Ridgeway looks fine.  As far as the NuVET that can be found on line at the link above -
I am sure you baby will love you home cooking...

Good luck
