Question
Hi Susan - I have been doing a lot of reading about raw diets for dogs.I have read that they are the best meals a dog can eat and I have also read the opposite -  "do not feed your dogs raw meat" I have to say I am leaning towards a raw meal diet for my dogs, however, I still seem to be skeptical about the whole idea. Can you shed some light on the subject.

thank you

Answer
Hi Andy,

Sorry I am now just getting to your question.

I don't have an clear answer for you.  It is good and bad.  Good in the way that dogs in the wild eat like this and they know what to eat and how much. But, our domesticated dogs are a bit different.  If you can get all the components that is needed to sustain good health, then Yes it great.  However, RAW meats are not easy to deal with.  Meats that we are eating are full of chemicals that are being fed to the animals, thus our pets and us included are ingesting those same things.  Now if you are getting organic meats, veggies and fruits than there is not much of a problem.  I personally did feed RAW, but health issues came up and I decided against it.  I did a lot of research and found a food that I feel good about giving my pets.  See here www.pipschoice.com
If you do go with RAW, than I highly suggest you give NuVet Plus supplements seen here www.nuvet.com/42299 you will need an order code to buy this product.  This will ensure all the right vitamins, mineral and herbs for proper health.

That is about all I can offer.
Hope this helps you.
