cleaning stains on white muzzles.

Hi.  I have a 7 year old Westie whose muzzle is very stained. It wasn't that way the first couple of years. I don't know how to correct it or prevent it. Is it from her own saliva or just food? Can it be cleaned or does it just have to grow out? That's assuming I can prevent future staining. Any advise would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

It is a combination of food, water chemicals, salvia. At www.drsfostersmith.com they have a wipe or cleaner that removes and prevents this.  I forget what they call it but I can picture a white dogs face in the add for it.  Give it a try and then wipe with baby wipes daily, and around the eyes they get marked also.  Must be watery eyes running and makes them pink.  My old bulldog had streaks of this from her eyes.
