Male Pug Peeing

Question
My male pug pees on my bed, the couch, I have caught him and punished him but he continues to do it.  How can I break a year old pug from doing this?

Answer
Brenda,

If he is doing this because he is excited, then you just need to keep him calm.

If he is doing this for no apparent reason, you should have your vet take a look and make sure there is not a physical reason for this.

If he is not excited and it is not physical, then it is most likely behavioral.  You can try to find out why he is behaving bad or change his environment.  I think the latter is the easiest.

Only allow him in areas that he is not being bad in.  Then as he learns again, the correct behavior, let him back to some of the other areas.  Don't rush it.

Hope this helps!
