i have just bought a teacup poodle&it has teas stains what is it caused by and
how can we stop it or remove it?

Hello Millicent,
Tear stains are caused by the tears mixing with chemicals in the hair.  When the two combine, it makes a rusty colored stain.  The best way to keep from getting the stains, is to shave your dogs face and keep the hair right under the eye as short as possible.  You can also apply vaseline under the eye to cause the tears to roll off the face.  

The products that claim to wash the stain away don't work very good.
