Question
my yellow lab is 8 months old the last time I took her to the vet she was about 4  mo I think and he said to feed her 1 and 1/4 2x a day now that she is  8 mo old how much should i  be feeding her she seems hungry all the time?

Answer
It is quite normal for a Lab to always be hungry.  2 1/2 cups may not be enough.  If you can see her ribs, You need to feed her more.  The ribs are the only reliable guide to how much to feed a dog. Switching to an adult chow for the larger breeds at 4 months, slows growth and helps develop sturdier joints.

Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs.
