Missing 14 year old black labrador

Question
We have a 14 year old black labrador that has been missing since New Year's Eve.  Sinbad has always been the mayor of our neighborhood - every person and dog on our block knows and likes him.  On New Year's Eve afernoon, he went out and has not been seen since!  Although he's old, has arthritis - it's been hard for him to get up lately, nerve damage in one leg, non-cancerous tumors and throat problems, he is still able to get around, has a good appetite and is happy.  Is there any truth to animals leaving the warmth of a loving home to dye!  It's so unlike him and I'm worried sick over him.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
I've never heard of this likely a myth. Thou what I would do is contact freinds and family saiyng the dog is missing if they live anywhere near your home they might spot the dog. Place flyers with his picture up all around a several clock radiance and even in different parts of town. Call your locale pounds and vets and say hes msising give a discription and any tatto or micro chiip numbers. Be sure to say on teh posters he is old and frail and need to get back home as soon as possible. Leave a dish of food on your foot or back step whichever he can get to and h e might find his way you never know. Check with lcole farmers if you live near the country they might have seen your dog or mayhave shot it for coming on there proeprty....sad but some peopel do do this...so its always nice to cheack, Walk around every afternoon around several blocks you'll be able to see into every nook and crany this way rather then taking the car you get a better look of the hidden corners while walking, call his name a few times during your daily walk and bring some treats with you...he may find you if he smells his favorite treat near by, listen for squeals or whines during your walk stay sharp and dont bring someone to distract you with talk.....the dog might have fallen and cant get up and is in great pain...its possible. If you follow these steps you will find your dog....be sure to offer a reward for his returrn or if someone finds him hey may not return him for 20 bucks, best of luck and start all these proceders very soon or it may be too late if you wait a few days if he has fallen and hurt himself and cant get up or is in a pound he will either starve be attacked by cootyes....in open area or be put asleep in the pound/
