Lab Broke Free From Leash!!!!

Hello-

I need your HELP!  I was walking my very energetic yellow lab this morning and she was chasing a squirrel and got free from her "gentle leader easy walk" leash!!!  I was yelling and screaming her name after she ran into the street.  Luckily, there were no cars around.  I am not able to use a regular leash as she usually walks me and she ends up pulling me into the street.  I am not crazy about chokers.  I realize that it is in their nature to chase birds and squirrels.  Can you please recommend a good leash?  I am in desperate need of a trusty one.  I want our walks to be fun, not anxiety-provoking!

I have had very good luck with the Gentle Leader.  The first thing I would suggest is carefully adjusting the one you have.  Make sure the loop is big enough to fit well back on the nose.  Then adjust the loop that goes around the neck to where it has very little slack.  I then think it will stay on allowing you to securely and comfortably walk the dog.  I have a leash with a snap on both ends.  The one end goes on the Gentle Leader, and the other on the ring of a flat collar.  That is quite secure.  The one I have was custom made, but if you want, I think I can find a place to order one like it.
