My Dog Wont Come

Question
I have a 6 year old black lab. We got him when he was about 6 mos. old.  He was basically running wild and I saved him from going to the shelter. We live on 6 acres in the country and he does pretty well most of the time, BUT when he decides he's going to go in the woods or to the neighbors you can't stop him.  I can literally be 3 feet behind him calling him and telling him to come and he completely ignores me. We have never been able to teach him his boundaries.  If he smells soemething he will take off into the woods and won't come back until he is ready.  It is extremely frustrating.  Can you help?  Thank you.

Answer
Try talking to a Petsmart worker about their training classes. Believe  me- it works! I tried it and my Lab does GREAT! If you don't have a Petsmart, or possible Petco worker, try buying the book entitled: Cesar's Way, by Cesar Millan. It's a must have for every dog owner! By the way, everytime your dog comes back to you prasie him. Think about it - would you want to come to somebody who is screaming and yelling at you? :)
