Lab Water Consumption

My 18 month old Lab, drinks water at times like a fish...
he has had all of his shots, and his last vet visit 6 months
ago...the vet said he was a health dog... My dog will be hunting
waterfowl this season, and I have a friend who said that too much
water, can cause the dog to roll his stomach,which requires sugery...How serious of a risk is this?

While bloat is serious, I don't think that the dog will have trouble with tortion due to drinking water.  You may want to be cautious by making sure the dog has had enough time to eat and digest before hunting with him, but I don't think water alone can cause bloat.
