Question
Hi

My Jack Russell pup has started losing her teeth in one week she has lost her canine top, top molers and a few of the small sharper teeth, her breath is horrible, she is hardly eating and her tummy is runny, her feces is jelly like? we have taken her to the vet and she has put her on quartezone please advise if this is ok?

Answer
Taryn,
You didn't mention how old the "pup" is. If she is a new puppy, it's normal for them to lose their "baby teeth" within the first 6 months. If she is older than that, something sounds medically wrong. I also don't know WHAT the cortisone was prescribed for, but sometimes that drug can make the immune system weak and easy to get secondary infections. It also causes side effects.  If you don't feel comfortable with your veterinarians advice or diagnosis, you have every right to take your dog back to be seen by a different one.  I wish I could advise you better but I don't have all the facts. It could be SO MANY THINGS! If she isn't better quickly, you should absolutely bring her to be seen by someone else.  I'm sorry you're going through this, best of luck to both of you. :(
