Kids/Allergies/Jack Russells

My kids both have allergies (mosstly enviromental. We are planning on purchasing a Jack Russell for them for XMas and want to know if this is an appropriate dog and if they shed alot.  Thanks, Michelle

I don't reccomend a JRT to anyone with young children they are snappy at times and can be very greedy and will take food items from a childs hand and may nip fingers by accident, they can also be very loving with kids but they musnt poke or prode the dog it may snap. The JRt also sheds and alot it is nowherre near a non shedding breed. I'd go with a poodle crossed with anything or a small mix of shituz X they do not shed. A miniture snuzer doesnt shed much either and has the same spunk and activiity level as the JRT.
