Question
I have a 2yr old parson that we have raised from a puppy..he's great with the kids and anyone new he meets. And he gets along with our little min. pin.I have taken him to 2  4week sociolization classes, but ever time we take him camping he barks the whole way there. and when another dog gets around our area he freaks out..curls his lip and goes into a frenzzy bitting anything in his was including my pants.I put him in his crate right away to isulate him from the pack. But as soon as another dog comes he does it again.I don't know what to do..we love him so much but it's just embarrasing when every dog in the camp ground gets along and your dog wants to eat them. any suggestion? we have though about finding him a new home cause we have tried lots of things and he has improved everything else but that. what should we do??

Answer
Hello,  My jack russell terrier was also raised from a puppy, He is also 2 years old and neutered.....is your Parson neutered? Neutering might help if he isnt already. Jacks/parsons are very dog agressive....mine gets along qwith my other dogs because he was raised around them...he disarroves of any other dog he sees during his morning walk and will pull hard toward them or growl/yap.... we normaly change derections when we see another dog as all my dogs hate to see other dogs when we are walking. I can not offer much advice to this but be very careful when you are taking him camping he musn't be allowed to bite any other dog as he might then be ordered to be put down because of being agressive which just isnt fair as these are genrally an agressive breed to other dogs/animals and offen domanting to there owners. I can say he is protecting your area . Keeping him leashed when your camping will help you control him. I can also say no need to be embaraced dog's will be dogs and this is normal for this breed of dog. sorry I couldnt be of more help
