My Jack Russell Spike and Holly had their first puppies 3 weeks ago and i am not an experienced dog owner that's scared of vet bills and still cares about my dogs and the puppies wellbeing. I'm looking for a reliable handbook or online help which would tell me what to do step by step what medical treatments are required what food and when to introduce to them. I'm lost and don't know where to turn to, dogs are my husband's forte and with him away for a year i don't want to do harm to those lovely animals I've been following your answers about pregnancy and birth so i trust you'd be the best to ask what to do next

Did you have their tails and dew claws docked at 3 days old? If not, it may be too late now, but that's not a big deal.
They should be weaned from the mothers milk and introduced to puppy food at 5 weeks old. Mush up the puppy food with hot water and hand feed them a little bit at a time - they won't like it at first but will grow to love it. By 7 weeks they should be completely off the mothers milk. Make sure you buy a high quality puppy food.
They will need their first set of vaccinations and dewormer at 7 weeks old so start saving up for that appointment - depending on where you live, it could cost up to but no more than $200.
I am assuming you have buyers for the puppies and it will be the new buyers responsibility to carry on with the vaccinations when they are 12 weeks old and then again at 16 weeks old.
