Baby Girl Peeing Inside

Question
Hi Carol,

I have 2 Jack Russells--a male and a female.  They are both 6 1/2 yrs old.  2 days ago my lil girl got on our bed and peed right in front of my husband.  When I heard him telling her no, I went into the bedroom and she was hiding behind him.  She and her brother are my babies and they have never been hit or physically disciplined.  They are very good and are rarely disciplined at all.   She jumped off the bed and went into the living room where she hid under the table.  I was able to coax her out from under the table but she seemed a little skiddish which broke my heart.  I spent the whole night cuddling with her and her brother and didn't have any accidents until today when she peed on the couch.  She is otherwise acting normal.  I haven't been walking them every day and have been working a lot of hours, but my husband plays with them outside. Could she be upset that I'm working late and not home with her n her brother?  They both get snuggled and get lots of attention, but I'm wondering if she feels like its not enough.  Please help. She is breaking my heart.

Answer
Hello,

There could be a few different reasons that Roxy is urinating when and where she shouldn't.
You always have to rule out the medical reasons first, so my suggestion would be to take her to the veterinarian and bring a urine sample and have it tested for infection. Urinary tract infections can be treated very successfully with antibiotics. They have no way to communicate to us that they don't feel good, but the way she is acting (hiding under the table) could be a sign.  They seem used to a routine and if they are used to being walked during the day and now they don't, it could be confusing; ask your husband to walk them like you would and that may put things back to normal.
Very best of luck to all of you!!
