Question
Hi Carol,

First of all I wanted to thank you for the time you put into the well being of this precious breed.

My question is in regards to whether or not supplements are a good idea.  If I use Pro-Pac puppy formula for my 3 month old male and 10 month old female, should I include any supplements?  Secondly, Is it ok to use baby carrots for treats.  They tend to be most cooperative for carrots, even more so than the expensive treats from the dog bakery :) I just want to be sure I am giving them the most healthy diet as possibly to ensure a long, and more importantly happy life. Any advice you can give for these questions would be most appreciated by my two little diggers, Rocco & Isabelle.

Warm regards,
John Crew

Answer
Hi John,
Thank you so much for the nice compliment, it's nice to hear sometimes. I love the breed so much too!
See..... Jack Russells are like potato chips, you can't have just one!!
You don't need any supplements with Pro-Pac food - it's high quality pet food, Everything is in there! Yes, carrots are GREAT treats, just don't over do it because they can cause loose stools if you give too many. I would say ONE for the 3 month old and 3 for the 10 month old (cut them up into tiny bites). Sometimes the poop will look orange-ish but no worries.
Pro-Pac sells treats too, that are inexpensive and good tasting (and healthy!) You can buy them at your local feed store where they sell Pro-pac or on line at propacpetfood.com - Maybe you already know all that, maybe you read it in a previous post.  If so, sorry for repeating myself!
Good luck with your little diggers - I bet they're little snugglers too. Take care.
