QuestionI'm a volunteer foster home for a Great Dane rescue group and they need a home for a 7yr Spayed female who is have hind end weakness with stool incont once daily. She is not on meds or excersized.Over all she isn't getting proper care in her current home. I have a 9.5 and 10yr Danes that do well with good care. She stools when she is laying down. Do you think this is something that can be improved with proper care?
AnswerNo chance of improvement. This often happens with older danes especially speyed females. From past experience she will go off her legs due to deterioration of the spinal column. You should find a good, tolerant home for her for her last few months. We use incontinence pads for our oldies.
