pain of a dog

our golden retriever is a menace he is 1 years old and doesn't stop digging holes i have used discipline but nothing seams to work he chews up everything he can get but nothing we do seams to help so if anyone can help me please do so

Digging is hopeless.  The only solution is to not leave the dog outside by itself.  

There are sturdy toys most dogs will not chew up.  The larger Kongs and Nylabones hold up to most dogs.  The only dog I ever heard of destroying a souper size Nylabone Galileo Bone was a Pit /bull.
