10 Month GSD Aggression

19 17:53:06

Question
We collected a 10Month olg GSD from a breeder who was planning to use him for breeding but due to complications he had to be castrated. We met him a few times and took him for walks and he was very friendly and sociable with us, our Older GSD and people around.

We took him home and he is very soft etc. My father came into the house yesterday (first person in house) and tried to give him a treat. He went for my dad 3 times, it wasn't play but true aggression. Could it ahve been nerves or possibly a time bomb waiting to happen?
He has very good breeding and both parents are from Germany with good pedigrees. He does grumble when i'm talking to people in the streets when we walk him.

I really need a bit of reassurance that obedience training will hopefully stop this.

Answer
wEll Chris,
This is most likely why he was netuered and sold or whatever.
It does not matter how well bred he is or where parents are from, it is how he was started in life from the beginning.
If the breeder left him in a kennel with no training done on him, he got agressive and it is genetic also.
I cannot tell you at this age if obedience will help or not. I would return him to the breeder and get a refund or just forget and buy a puppy and raise it properly.
If u want to know how to soon I am putting up on litters page what I give all my customers how to raise a puppy properly to be great adults as all mine are that run together.
U should of had him temperment tested before taking home an older dog.
Go to my site often and read, click on my email and let me know what u do with this older dog.

Kind Regards
Patt
