QuestionI have just recently acquired two puppies and have been told that both parents where shepherds. I would like to know what i should look for in a good dog as far as training it to be my husbands K-9?
AnswerHi Linda, You have a long way to go before the puppies can actually train to become K9's. They have to be at least a year of age for that training to start. The ideal dog for K9 work should have heavy prey drive, have a very even temperment, not be over-aggressive, nor submissive. An outgoing puppy is ideal for that type of training also.
