my 2 year old german shepard has severe dry skin

I have tried everything.We started giving him 1 allergy pill a day. 1 fish oil pill a day, nothing works. He has started to get scabs on him, I dont know what else to do

Feed a decent chow and as little else as possible, seldom if ever bathe the dog,
and brush it daily with a soft bristled brush. You might add a teaspoon a day of
liquid cooking oil to its food.

If that doesn't help, talk to your vet.  Many things require treatment by the vet.
