Size Difference

Question
Is there a difference in the sizes of a long haired German Shepherd and a short haired one? Does the long coated seem bigger or are they actually the same size at the shoulders? I'm not a breeder, but really need to know because I will probably get a German shepherd in upcoming months, and I need to know which is bigger or if they are the same. Thanks.

Within any breed, some lines are bigger than others.  Some of the lines of long haired shepherds may be bigger or smaller than the short haired ones.  Look for a puppy whose parents are near the size you want.  They often come out near the size of one parent.
