Hip displacement

Hi there, my white shepherd is female 6 months old and X-rays at spaying show displacement. Is there any exercises or activities that you know of that can help to work the hips without hurting her? Also what are the odds she can outgrow it?

Hi Michelle,  She unfortunately will never outgrow it, but the best thing to do is get her to swim.  Swimming tightens the muscles around the hip socket which helps hold it in place better.  It is also a less strenous exercise on the hips.  With Dysplasia,  You don't want to over-exercise or under-exercise the dog.  You have to basically find a happy medium which swimming can help fill.  Hope this helps,
