how could i get my dog not to take food of strangers.
buying a 2 year gsd would it adapt to its to new family has i have 3 year old boy

Chances of an adult gsd taking food during a break in are slim to none. But training can guarantee this. We train our dogs never to eat food period from us, on the floor or from anyone else unless we give them a release command. Get your dog into obedience and go from there. A two year old will adapt to a new family, takes them longer than an eight week old puppy but they will. Careful of tempermant and training when you purchase an adult dog of any breed and as with ANY dog always supervise your child with your dog, Teach your child how to touch and treat the dog.
