when you say the school recomends pro plan, do you mean pro plan large breed? I have a german sheherd dog.

Answer
They feed just puppy chow through 4 months, and then switch to adult.  Another school I raised puppies for fed Eukanuba or Iams large breed puppy chow through 7 months, then switched to adult.  They switched to adult Purina 1 from the beginning last year.  

My local vet is a nationally known joint specialist.  He too says skip puppy chow all together.
