height and health

QUESTION: hi,i am having a German shepherd female dog of 1 year,but its chest not as wide as healthy gsd dog,and its not attaining full height,so what should i do?

ANSWER: Hi,

Can you tell me how high she is at the shoulder?   and how wide she is at her chest.   She should be full grown by now, but may still need to fill out, she is still really young and GSD's are slow maturing.

Hi Jack,

I hope you mean 21 inches....   that is 1 inch below the bottom end of the height standard for female GSD's.   Her width will be proportionate to her height and body structure.  You can read the GSD standard at the following link.
