QuestionI have a 8 month old long haired German Shepherd. He is a wonderful dog, he doesn't bark or chew on anything. He is not aggressive at all, quite the opposite. We just recently got him, the problem is he doesn't want to play. He eats, drinks laying down. We are quite active with him, but he seems to just want to lay down. He won't put anything in his mouth. We have tried different toys and nothing has worked. We have exhausted our knowledge of what to do with him. He doesn't get excited about anything. Any suggestions?
AnswerThat is really unusual. He may have a physical problem or something. Have you talked to your vet about this? If your vet can't find a problem, perhaps you need to get a second opinion.
He may also just need more time with you. Shepherds often are slow to bond to new people.
