Nippy Pom Puppy

Hello,

I brought my 9-week-old Pomeranian home last week and am thrilled. Crate/potty training is going great however I have a couple of problems with her. First of all, when she gets playful she gets nippy. I've tried gently closing my hand around her muzzle and saying, "No bite" or distracting her with a chew toy (which she has PLENTY of). Neither seem to work. I also don't use my hands as "toys" or tease her in any way to provoke it. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated as those little needle teeth hurt!

My second problem is she is a little too rough with my cats. They are good sports about it but I am worried she might hurt them. I tell her "No" very firmly but it does nothing to deter her. Other than those two issues I am loving life with my new Pomeranian.

She is at the age you need to teach her manners.  When I
say use a  rolled up newspaper of just a couple of pages
and use the newspaper as a teaching tool only and slap the floor around her with it.  Again say NO in a loud voice.

If this doesn't curb her behavoir put her back in her crate
for 20 minutes.  Each time she bites or chases the cats
put her back in her crate.
