Question
I was just given two large sized poms. They are akc registered as well as their parents being akc registered. They are a year old. The breeder that gave them to me is retiring from dog breeding. She says that these large parti-color poms are sought after and that I can stud them and have my own buisness. Is this true, or did she sucker me into taking them? Thank you!

Answer
It appears to me "she suckered you". *shrug* unless you were just looking to give them a good home.

Large in a Pom is never sought after.  The standard calls for them to be 3-7 lbs.

Here is a link about responsible breeding-

When breeding for the right reasons it is tough to even break even let alone make any money.  And if you were to make money you would have had to invest lots and lots of money to get a Pom of value from a pedigree that is sought after.

Just love them.  And spay and nueter unless you do your research.

You will find a lot of info on Poms here-
